Customer Reviews

So Many Blades! These blades are great, they're SO cheap, there are so many - now instead of using dull blades to cut up my recycling, I can use a fresh blade which makes everything go faster. I also often use them in my art work, they're perfect for that as well. My only complaint is the dispenser. It took me forever to realize that I was trying to push the blade out of the wrong side. I finally figured it out, and tried to push them the right way, but the blades are super greasy and really, really hard to get out. I end up having to pry them out with a tool. Then the grease gets all over my hands, so if I am using the blades to cut items for an art project, I have to wipe them down first so as not to ruin the art piece. That greasy part is gross. 5Lots of good sharp blades for a reasonable price, great for drywall work I had to remodel a lot of my house myself, which meant doing a lot of drywall in the process. This 50-pack was more than enough to get the job done.Blades are made in the U.S.A which is always a nice bonus. Functionally though, on only a few blades did I break the tip off - they were quite sturdy. They kept their edge really well scoring many dozens of drywall pieces, and then just flip the blade around and have another sharp edge. The dispenser is also pretty nice, makes getting new blades just a quick slip of the thumb over the dispenser and grab some new blades and fill up my utility knife. As a reference, I pair these with the very non-fancy old style stanley knife with no frills (which I like it that way) - I use the Stanley 99 4 X Stanley 10-099 6-Inch Classic 99 Retractable Utility KnifeAll in all, great blades at a reasonable price. 5Dulls quickly I know what you're thinking- holy cow the 100 pack is like $3 more than the 10 pack, but what am i gonna do with 100 of these? Well, I got the 10 pack and regret not getting the 100 pack. These things dull SO QUICKLY it is astounding. I can cut up one big cardboard box before I notice a distinct lowering of cut quality. For instance, I cut up a box that a chair came in, so it was a good size box, and then tried to open some other Amazon boxes and it got hung up on the tape. If you do anything more intense than cutting through scotch tape, these things will dull very fast and you'll go through them fast enough to warrant the 100 pack. 3great value I have spent a lot of time with utility knives over the years. I have bought the cheap blades, and I have bought the expensive blades. I believe that Stanley's blades give some of the best value in utility knife blades. I have used them on cardboard, carpet, rubber, and many other construction and retail situations over the years. The cheap blades are always needing to be replaced, and the expensive blades don't seem to give much longer of a life. The 50 or 100 pack will last a while, and give me the best value for my blades. 5The Ones You Want... I bought these after buying (and returning) two others. The Stanley blade container is vastly superior to the other's gimmicky style; it works AND it's user friendly.I'm not sure if Stanley invented the utility knife, but they've certainly been making them for many decades. Their tools in general are well designed and well made, and these blades are no exception. I was pleasantly surprised to see the package said "Made in USA with global materials".The few dollars more these cost more than make up for the aggravation in dealing with poorly functioning blade containers that come with off-brand blades. So often quality usually costs more; and in this case it's worth it! 5Great blades. Decent dispenser. These blades are fantastic. The industry standard. Sharp and long lasting. The dispenser is decent, though you have to be careful when extracting blades from it. The blades themselves have a liberal amount of oil on them to prevent corrosion, which can get a little messy. I wiped off the excess before putting them in my two knives. With 100 of them, I doubt I'll need to buy any more in my lifetime. I'm very happy with these. 5The 50 pack is a sweet deal, but applying some tape is recommended. Amazon combines all reviews for this product, no matter what the quantity, but this review is for the pack of 50 utility type razor blades, which are used in utility knives and other cutting tools, often referred to as box cutters . The blades are very good quality, and are conveniently housed in a plastic dispenser. The dispenser works well, as sliding a finger across the top causes a blade to slide out from the right side of the dispenser. The plastic dispenser snaps together, however if you happen to drop it, the housing could separate and spill out a stack of razors all over the place. I would recommend wrapping some transparent tape around the dispenser housing to insure that it does not accidentally snap open. A couple of turns of 1 wide tape is cheap insurance. The performance and quality of these blades is not an issue, but what prospective buyers might want to be aware of is that the price at Amazon often jumps up and then drops down to about $5.49 (which is what I paid). This step up and drop down pattern is not usual, but how long it may continue is unknown. While you can certainly save buying in bulk, obviously this item is a much better buy at $5.49 than at $7.11, so shop carefully. 5I've gone through hundreds of these blades and I really like this new dispenser What can I say - they work! :) Stanley makes quality products and my heavy duty utility knife is more than a decade old. I've gone through hundreds of these blades and I really like this new dispenser. Previously purchased blade packs were overly greasy (oil is applied to prevent rust) but this one came applied with just the right amount. The dispenser is easy to use and is made from hard plastic that is sure to outlast the time it will take to finish all the blades. The dispenser also has holes to hang it on a shelf so now it is always easy to find. 5I compared these blades to existing Stanley blades I have ... I compared these blades to existing Stanley blades I have. These new blades are quite a bit thinner than the old ones and don't fit my handle well. See picture for comparison. 2Can't hold an edge Blade too thick for intended application, but that's not the seller's or even manufacturer's fault. However these blades can't hold an edge. Used one for a couple days, and by 'use' I mean minimal tasks like cutting tape to open boxes (not cardboard itself), opening a few envelopes, cutting some plastic wrap. You get the idea. Already dull. Return window closed while my initial blade (not from this pack or manufacturer) was still fresh. At least I have 50 of them. 1
